Me the circus and I...

The Circus has stolen my heart.. I ran away with it last weekend and the one before that.. and more to come.

I don't write about it alot here, but when I'm not up to my eyeballs in pins, fabric and glue, I do alot of performance art with poi... on and off fire.. and new to my resume is club spinning... a sort of juggling poi hybrid... which I learned so I could run away...

My beautiful and VERY talented friend Leona seen here....

talked me into doing joining an amazing talented group of folks from Lasqueti Island called The Lasquirkus. We have about an 2 hour show that we've performed last weekend on Quadra Island and Cortes Island.

It was amazing how much work gets put in behind the scenes.. all the setting up, make up, costumes, props and little details that need to be taken care of.

So it's pretty cool.. now I can say "Yes I ran away with the circus." and dressed up as a bird.. yes this is me :) When I wasn't running around being a giant worm with Leona.

Officially off my list.

  1. I stumbled across this blog while on my search for a grosgrain ribbon kanzashi tutorial. (Have yet to find a free one- any ideas?) I have to say, I love your stuff! Great tutorials, and I find myself wishing I could sew after seeing all of your projects. Now I sound like a stalker, great. (In reality, I'm slightly normal, recently turned crafty, trying to sell my crafts to raise money to adopt a baby boy from Taiwan.) Keep up the great work, I'm excited to see more!

  2. And I stumbled across your blog when I googled Union Jack quilt, because I really want to make one. I am South African, have lived in the UK for 3 years and relocated to Doha, Qatar (Middle East) 10 months ago. I want to do a wallhanging of all the quilted flags of the countries we have lived in. I was so excited to see that you have figured out how to make the Union Jack. Please please please share with me how you did it!!
