Does it feel like ones of those days?

Oh Bobo...
Mr Bobo was being particularly cute today.

I think EVERYthing... everything except me spilling sour cream down my front at dinner...oh and a fabric pucker.. has gone my way today.  It was a reflective day today too..

damn you pucker!!

I started sandwiching my Union Jack quilt today ( finally), using my Janome machine. My machine is great. She's been going for years... it's nothing fancy, but she was made before the plastic light machines started coming out. Simple stitches. But it got me thinking about how I got here... simple beginnings.

..but I found myself thinking about my machine and JUST how long it's been with me.. We've done alot of sewing together.. when I think just HOW many years, about 19!! Think of ALL the hours.. of sewing...

During my "sewing" break I looked up and admired my pictures hung above my sewing station.. It's where I got my blog "motto" from.

When I first got it.. I was young. I didn't really understand to appreciate what it meant. As I got older I went through a stage where it was "not cool", crafts and sewing went to the wayside and I hid it for years in my closet and when I first moved out. Once my Dad came over to mine and saw it sitting behind my couch and told me Mom had been hurt when she noticed it there.

Back on the wall RIGHT away... and the longer it sat there.. the more I loved it. Soon the sewing machine came back out.. and I am where I am now.. up to my eye balls in fabric.

Speaking of fabric... Check this out.. THIS is the VERY first piece of fabric I EVER bought!! It was my first sewing project. I made a sewing bag. I don't know where it is now.. but I still have this scrap! How cool is that? What should I do with it?!?!

Here's a sneak peak of the back of my quilt.

Well of for my LAST weekend with the circus!!! Have a great weekend! Whoot!

Laser scissors!!!

A friend of mine just messaged me on facebook to show me these....

Seriously??? LAZZZZER SCISSORS!!! That just cracked me up...I don't know what I'd use them for. The only thing that comes to mind is Doctor Evil for some reason.. he has sharks with laser beams.. I have scissors.. NO match for the sharks!

Happy Thursday.

My happy not so Easter Eggs

I was digging around in my craft drawers and came across my easter eggs from last year. They are not your typical eggs... skull and cross bones... and some type of flower thing.

This year has been a little crazy with time and all.. I rolled in from being on the road this weekend at about 430 but was determined to make SOME type of egg. I had ALL kinds of ideas and I started off with like.. 4 eggs.. but in the end I only had the attention span for one egg... and why not make my brother an egg???

So I introduce to you... the egg of 2011... dedicated to my brother..

Yes.. ACDC easter egg... hell ya.

Well tomorrow I hope I get time to sleep in.. get some quilting done. Dabble  in some dreams.. and get some WIP's done!!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Union Jack Top DONE!!!

Phew...I got that aftercraft glow going on... and you can see why.

After a mini marathon this afternoon I've been pecking away at my Pie and Tarts quilt and then just dove into finishing off the top of my quilt. FINALLY. And I am so pleased with it!

I have moments where I worry about excess colour. I really really like bright and random patchy work stuff. This one was made for a pre-teen so I didn't want to be too girly and I wanted that punk rock feel.

Last year I fell in love with Free spirits Jane Sassman "Prairie Gothic" Collection. Those meters have been waiting so long to be used...Along with some much loved Heather Ross collection.. those mermaids and octopus's have stolen my heart... ( oh that reminds me of a post I'll be doing soon... ;) )

And two weeks ago we received part of the new line called Garden Diva... and of course I ended up going home with a meter.. la la la... but it turned into MAYBE one of my favorite squares...

And after much much much debate.. a few days of trying MANY many border fabrics and good old Kaffe Fasset did the number.

YAY!!! Love it!!! Now.. backing.. batting.. quilting.... battles half done.

Me the circus and I...

The Circus has stolen my heart.. I ran away with it last weekend and the one before that.. and more to come.

I don't write about it alot here, but when I'm not up to my eyeballs in pins, fabric and glue, I do alot of performance art with poi... on and off fire.. and new to my resume is club spinning... a sort of juggling poi hybrid... which I learned so I could run away...

My beautiful and VERY talented friend Leona seen here....

talked me into doing joining an amazing talented group of folks from Lasqueti Island called The Lasquirkus. We have about an 2 hour show that we've performed last weekend on Quadra Island and Cortes Island.

It was amazing how much work gets put in behind the scenes.. all the setting up, make up, costumes, props and little details that need to be taken care of.

So it's pretty cool.. now I can say "Yes I ran away with the circus." and dressed up as a bird.. yes this is me :) When I wasn't running around being a giant worm with Leona.

Officially off my list.
